Ali (Lebanon)
Ali, born in 2017, is autistic, suffers from ADHD and cannot speak. He has a healthy twin sister and two older half-brothers, one of whom is also autistic and mentally disabled. His father suffers from lung disease and is practically unable to work. The mother is a housewife and suffers from hypothyroidism. The family is supported by relatives and neighbours.
According to the medical report from the Lebanese doctor, Ali needs occupational therapy, speech therapy, sensory and motor therapy. After our medical doctor in Switzerland has reviewed the case, we will finance speech therapy and occupational therapy for a few months. Ali is already taking part in speech therapy. He is also taking medication which our doctor believes is ineffective and which, like the speech therapy, is not funded by we care.
