Joumana

Joumana was born with physical deformities. She lives with her old mother in very poor conditions in a small house in a village in Syria. The father is deceased. The two women have to live on a monthly pension of the equivalent of $ 10. In addition, they are supported, mainly in kind, by neighbours and two sons/brothers who, however, live far away.

Joumana, 47, is very happy to have received the wheelchair which allows her a little more freedom of movement in the house. Above all, she can now be brought outside the house or taken for a walk in the village by her mother or a neighbour who looks after her which was impossible before. Joumana has gained a great deal of quality of life with the wheelchair.
